Partners,
I’m deeply saddened to share that our dear friend and UKG teammate, Erika Shapiro, recently passed away.
As our events manager, Erika had a remarkable talent for planning and executing partner involvement in UKG meetings and conferences. Many of you likely worked with her to talk strategy, secure sponsorships, or understand how to make the most of your event investment.
Behind the scenes, Erika was passionate about the partner experience. She was an advocate for sponsorship options that delivered the most value for you, and she was thoughtful when it came to untangling and relaying the many logistics involved in large-scale events.
For those of us who knew Erika on a more personal level, she was also delightfully funny, unapologetically honest, and someone who knew how to lift others up—even as she faced stage 4 breast cancer herself.
As a team, we feel Erika’s loss immensely, but we take comfort in knowing that she spent her final week on an Alaskan cruise with her two teenage children—a bucket list trip for her and her family.
To support her family during this difficult time, UKG is providing financial support for her funeral services and healthcare benefits for her children.
As we embark on events season here at UKG, we will be holding Erika in our hearts, bringing her passionate spirit and energy to your partnership experience, and doing our best to take care of you just as Erika did so beautifully for the 15 years she was with UKG.
If you have any event-related needs or questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to partnermarketing@ukg.com.
Sincerely,
Jay Dettling
UKG Chief Partner Officer
