The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) informed us that they will no longer accept filings for unregistered accounts using an “Applied For” status. As a result, the Georgia state unemployment insurance employer (GASUIER) tax code in your company tax profile for your UKG Pro® Payment Services solution will be inactivated as of Tuesday, March 18. All future processed liabilities will appear as a tax exception in the Payment Services Gateway in your UKG Pro solution until the tax code is properly configured. Additionally, any first quarter of 2025 collected liabilities will be refunded by Wednesday, March 19.
Action may be required! If the GASUIER tax code should remain active or if you have future withholdings to report, you will need to register your business with GDOL. Here are the steps you need to take by Thursday, March 27 to ensure UKG can file on your behalf:
- Visit the GDOL website to register your account.
- Utilize the Tax Setup (Company) business rule (under Menu > System Configuration > Business Rules > Business Rules > Tax Setup (Company)) to update your tax profile with the GASUIER tax code. For more details, read our Configure Company US State and Local Tax Codes job aid. If you need assistance reactivating the tax code, please create a case in the UKG Community™ by selecting Tax & Payment Services > Tax Code – Add or Change > Tax Jurisdiction codes – Add or change.
Note: No action is required if the tax code should remain inactive, and the lack of account at GDOL is accurate.
